Joe joined IDG Research Services in November, 2010. He graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington in May, 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Prior to coming to IDG he was experienced in both quantitative and qualitative research, having studied and applied both approaches in classes and real-world projects. During his junior and senior years, Joe was employed by Whitman’s Alumni Department to headline a large scale survey-based research project that he fielded among the school’s entire alumni population. The results of his alumni survey were used to guide decision-making processes aimed at improving reunion programs and alumni attendance, as well as overall alumni satisfaction. As a senior at Whitman, Joe’s sociology thesis was written using a series of in-depth interviews he conducted among convicted felons that explored classical theories of self-identity conceptualizations over a life-course perspective. Joe also played for Whitman’s varsity baseball team, leading the team in home runs, and also leading the Northwest Conference in fielding percentage (.1000) by going errorless in 331 chances as a first baseman during his senior year.
